SOCCER UNITY PROJECT IS HIRING

South End Soccer Travel : Head and Assistant Coaches

Soccer Unity Project is looking to add experienced soccer coaches to its professional South End Soccer coaching staff. Our program is a well organized town travel program in Massachusetts with several year round, paid coaching positions and seasonal volunteer coaches. Coaches are responsible for leading the training and development for players on the South End Soccer travel teams. The Coach works to create a fun, engaging environment on the field that aligns with the mission and philosophy of South End Soccer. The Coach works closely and collaboratively with the Director of Coaching and other coaches to ensure the progress of player, team, and parent development. We are looking for energetic coaches that are passionate about equity in youth sports and work with children between ages 9 to 14. This position reports directly to the Director of Coaching.

Job Duties and Skills include but not limited to:

  • Create a positive, safe environment with players and parents for developing a love of the game that adheres to our Code of Conduct

  • 2-3 years of coaching experience preferred, but less experienced coaches that are passionate about coaching youth soccer should apply with a willingness to learn and attend certification trainings

  • US Soccer Grassroot Pathway Course Certification (4v4, 7v7, 9v9, 11v11) or D license preferred, not required, we will reimburse coaches for coach license courses while on staff

  • Proven ability to maintain confidentiality and to work with tact and diplomacy, calm under pressure

  • Ability to work flexible hours, including nights and weekends and travel outside Boston

  • Experience with youth soccer and/or youth-centered organizations

  • Have experience working with communities of color and diverse populations, and have desire to take trainings to further understanding racial equity and sport for youth development

  • Design and run practices, and oversee games with players and team that adhere to US Soccer, Mass Youth Soccer, and our program's standards for development and understanding of the game
