ADAPTIVE

Soccer Unity Project is on a mission to make Boston the most inclusive soccer city in the United States. Our Adaptive programs create spaces where players of all abilities can play, belong, grow, and compete. We bring together existing efforts across Boston into one unified community, where players can develop recreationally, build confidence, and access competitive pathways that match their goals and abilities.
Please see below for the full slate of programming that we offer throughout the year.

Unified Team
Soccer Unity Project's Unified Team brings together players ages 8-15 with and without intellectual disabilities on the same roster. Through competitive team play and intentional partnership, the program fosters genuine inclusion, lasting friendships, and mutual understanding.
Teams practice once or twice a week, play scrimmages throughout the season, and compete at the Special Olympics state championship at season's end.
Our goals for the Unified Team are to develop foundational soccer skills in a supportive team environment, build lasting friendships across differences, and celebrate the unique strengths each player brings to the team.

Soccer For All
Soccer Unity Project's Soccer For All program brings together youth and adult players with disabilities for an inclusive soccer experience that combines recreational play, skill development, mentorship, and exposure to competitive disability soccer pathways. The program creates one shared environment where players of different ages, abilities, and soccer experiences can play together and build confidence.
Youth participants enjoy a one-hour clinic grouped by skill level and support needs, with adult adaptive players serving as buddies, coaches, and role models. Adults then participate in their own competitive open-play session, showing players what's possible in adaptive soccer.
Our goals for Soccer for All are to introduce players to soccer in a welcoming community, develop foundational skills and confidence on the field, connect players with adaptive coaches and mentors, and introduce young athletes to competitive disability soccer pathways.
This program is done in partnership with New England Amputee Soccer, Adaptive Sport New England, and CP Soccer.
