TRAVEL TEAMS

Our Travel Team program is built on holistic player development - fostering skill growth, teamwork, leadership, and sportsmanship in every player. Teams compete in the Boston Area Youth Soccer (BAYS) and Boston Soccer League (BSL) leagues, where players experience the challenge and rewards of competitive soccer in a supportive environment.
We believe in creating spaces where players are equipped with the resources, coaching, and development to thrive on and off the field.
Travel teams are open to youth in Grades 3 - 8, and High Schoolers. Our High School Travel teams are run in partnership with Boston Scores.

FALL 2026 - SPRING 2027 TRYOUT INFORMATION
We have limited spots across our Grade 3 - 8 Travel Teams, so our tryouts are designed to help us get to know each player and place them on the team that’s the best fit for their abilities and development.
What to Expect:
Players will participate in a variety of activities and small-sided games, allowing our Coaches to evaluate key technical skills - including running with the ball, striking the ball, first touch, 1v1s, attacking, defending, and overall game awareness.
Alongside technical ability, our Coaches will also be observing each player's coachability, attitude, decision-making, and teamwork throughout the session.
Fees:
Soccer Unity Project is dedicated to changing the narrative around access to play and so we have no required fees to participate.
Full uniforms are provided, and our equipment recycling program offers shin guards, goalkeeper gloves, and cleats at no cost to players and families.

OUR COACHING PHILOSOPHY
Travel Teams are overseen by our Director of Programs, Eve Wilcox. Every Travel Team is led by a trained, qualified Coach who lives the Soccer Unity Project values of cultural appreciation, play, access, and community.
Our Coaches are committed to inspiring a love of the game by creating fun, safe, and inclusive environments where every child is challenged, supported, and celebrated - because when that happens, soccer becomes more than a game. Our coaches aim to inspire a love of the game, while equipping players with the resources and development to thrive on and off the field.
